Bio van The Packxsz The story goes back to the mid-80's when a young Packxsz (Born, Pax Van de Vliet, December 1978) got infected by the Hiphopvirus through hearing sounds from Native tonque's such as Delasoul, A Tribe Called Quest and Jungle Brothers in the late 80's.
Years later, in 1997, he started to show his love for music back through starting a vinyl collection and began dj-ing in 1998. In 1999 he met Wan, then known as "Specta", later as Wan Tan, Wan and Wan Kei You (Please brother, make up your mind, no offence though, hahah…) and K1, who just started a Hiphop group that year called "Fata Morgana" (what means "Mirage" in Dutch). After being their back-up DJ for a couple of years The Packxsz offically got added to the group in 2001.Â
After expirimenting with a drumcomputers and samplers since 1999, he found himself ready to do a little productionwork within the group. He added some jazzy and soulful flavour to the sound of Fata Morgana in a small contrast to the group's Wan, who delivered most beats to the group wich sound was, at least at that time, more inspired by classical music and had also arabic influences. In 2002 Fata Morgana went to the half Finals for "de Grote prijs van Nederland "competition, category R&B / Hiphop. The next year, in 2003, they ended up number two for the "Unsigned Talent" Competition.
In 2004 he left the group to continue as a freelance Beatmaker and Party DJ. Allthough he disbanded from the group he still got some production work on their ´Krabbels EP´ released in 2007 wich received critical acclaim and praise in the Dutch Hiphop scene.
His production style is often descriped as subtile, warm and soulful and musical influences range from A Tribe Called Quest, J Dilla, Dr. Dre, Common and DJ Premier to Stevie Wonder, D'Angelo, The Neptunes, Lenny Kravitz, Dwele and Marvin Gaye...And the list goes on and on...
